We welcome research on microbiomes in any ecosystem context (natural environments, plant/animal/human hosts, or engineered), organismal focus (microbial eukaryote, prokaryote, virus, or mix), and approach (wet-lab and/or computational) that aims to advance foundational organismal, ecological, evolutionary, and/or mechanistic understanding in a microbial community setting.
